Your Germany Scholarship
The Deutschlandstipendium is a federal initiative to support particularly talented students and was launched for the first time in the summer semester of 2011 at state and state-recognized universities in Germany. This type of scholarship is primarily intended to support gifted and high-achieving students. The funding amount is provided in equal parts by the public sector and a sponsor from the private sector. The financial support helps young talents to concentrate fully on their studies. In addition to BAföG, educational loans and scholarships for the gifted, the Deutschlandstipendium is another pillar of student financing.
At a glance
- Scholarship is granted as a non-repayable grant
- Scholarship holder is supported with 300 EUR per month
- 150 EUR comes from a private donor, the other 150 EUR is provided by the federal government
- Scholarship can be higher if the private sponsor provides more than 150 EUR
- Awarded irrespective of income
- Scholarship can be combined with BAföG funding
- Approval is usually granted for 2 semesters

Deutschlandstipendium Current award
Most recently, our university issued a total of 9 Deutschlandstipendien for the winter semester 2022.
The application process has been completed and we are happy to announce that the scholarship holders of the Deutschlandstipendien have been determined. We would like to thank the Studenten-Förderverein Gera e.V. as well as the Sparkasse Gera-Greiz, Prof. Dr. Henrik Herrmann, Prof. Dr. Dr. Philipp Plugmann, the Lions-Club Dithmarschen e. V. and Nobel Biocare Deutschland GmbH for their support.

Stipendium der Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes
The Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes is the largest and oldest foundation for the promotion of gifted students. Free from political, religious and ideological dictates, it supports particularly gifted students who distinguish themselves by their high performance, broad interests, tolerance and social competence. The support is intended to enable a comprehensive course of study - this is seen as the basis for an excellent degree and for responsible action in one's career.

The Studenten Förderverein Gera e.V. regularly offers "Gera Scholarships" as well as "Starter-Packages" for students of our university.
