What you will learn
Digital transformation is advancing rapidly in the global healthcare industry. As a result, the need for professionals with specialized knowledge in IT and healthcare is growing.
Our goal with the new bachelor's degree program in Computer Science focusing on Health Informatics is to train this new generation of experts. That's why we offer a comprehensive computer science degree program that includes additional modules in healthcare, digital health, and artificial intelligence.
With us, you will learn the basic methods, principles, and techniques of essential programming paradigms, as well as the associated markup and programming languages, and gain knowledge about the implementation and evaluation of various application systems, cloud technologies, cybersecurity measures, and software solutions.
Due to the health focus, your understanding of eHealth technologies, apps, and robotics to advise, treat, and support patients will deepen your informatics expertise. You'll learn about expert systems, neural networks, imaging, and other applications of AI in health technology and management. Next to the importance of data protection, privacy, and confidentiality regarding medical data, the curriculum also includes developing health and learning games. Modules on risk management, medical law, epidemiology, and public health complement the curriculum and your computer science studies.
Our innovative approach that pays off
Our project- and competence-oriented B.Sc. Computer Science – Focus on Health Informatics program will prepare you perfectly for challenging positions in healthcare and other sectors by providing you with soft, hard, and personal skills.
Due to the shortage of specialists in industries such as software, telecommunications, manufacturing, or medical technology, graduates have a wide range of career opportunities. Typical fields of activity may include:
- System/software developer
- Application/software developer
- System-/Anwendungsadministrator
- Software and hardware sales specialist
- Interface Specialist
