About me

About me

Prof. Dr. Tamara Gehring-Vorbeck supports the SRH university team since mid-September 2022 at the Bamberg campus as professor of nursing and head of the bachelor's degree program in nursing.

After training as a nurse at the FAU University Hospital in Erlangen, she worked for many years at this institution in various specialist disciplines
(cardiology/emergency room/neurological intensive care unit).

After further training as a nursing service and home manager (2001 to 2003), she studied nursing management at the Protestant University of Applied Sciences in Nuremberg (2003 to 2006), majoring in geriatric care management, hospital management and applied gerontology, and graduated with a degree in nursing management (FH).

From 2008 to 2011, a successful doctoral study in the focus of gerontology on the topic of dementia and dying in German geriatric care facilities - so far still unique, in the direct support of people with dementia in the last phase of life - followed with the overall assessment 'magna cum laude'.

In various management positions, such as in the facility management sector of geriatric care, at a large certification institution as well as the management of the Institute for Gerontology and Ethics and the management of the Innova CareConsult network, a comprehensive professional expertise in the fields of management in health and social care facilities and applied nursing science could be gained.

In her own network, extensive expertise in the areas of organizational and human resource development as well as coaching of managers/leaders in the non-profit/profit sector could be achieved through many years of activity.
