About me About me

In October 2018, Sindy Zimmermann took over her teaching position in the Nutrition Therapy and Counselling degree programme at the SRH University of Health.

Sindy Zimmermann successfully completed her studies in nutritional sciences at the Friedrich Schiller University of Jena in 2003 (degree: Diplom-Trophologin).

After her studies, she worked for four years in research and teaching at the Friedrich Schiller University as a research assistant at the Chair of Human Nutrition and Sports Medicine, before she started her own freelance practice in the field of nutrition counselling, nutrition therapy and health promotion in 2007. Since then, she has successfully set up and managed a practice for nutrition therapy and health promotion in Zeulenroda-Triebes.

Her current work focuses on the interdisciplinary obesity therapy of children and adolescents, as well as adults, whom she accompanies within the framework of a multi-year, multimodal programme, also before and after bariatric surgery in cooperation with the Clinic for Obesity and Metabolic Surgery of the SRH Wald-Klinikum Gera.

Further fields of therapy are the outpatient care of patients with gastrointestinal diseases and operations, as well as the counselling of tumour patients.
